Installation & Usage Guide

Get up and running in minutes.

01

Download & open the .dmg

Click Download for Mac above. Once downloaded, open the .dmg file and drag InstantFaceAI.app into your /Applications folder.

macOS security — unsigned app notice

Because InstantFaceAI is distributed outside the App Store, macOS will block it on first launch. Use either method below to open it.

Option A — Easiest
  1. In Finder, right-click InstantFaceAI.app
  2. Choose Open from the menu
  3. Click Open Anyway in the dialog that appears
  4. You only need to do this once — future launches work normally
Option B — Terminal (one-time command)

Run the command that matches your shell:

bash
xattr -rd com.apple.quarantine /Applications/InstantFaceAI.app
zsh
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/InstantFaceAI.app

Open Terminal via Spotlight (⌘ Space) → type Terminal → paste the command → press Enter.

03

Grant camera & microphone access

On first launch macOS will ask for camera permission — click Allow. If you accidentally denied it, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and enable InstantFaceAI.

04

Select InstantFaceAI as your camera

Open Zoom, Meet, Teams, or any video app. In the camera selector choose "InstantFaceAI Camera" — the virtual webcam InstantFaceAI registers. Your swapped face will appear live to everyone on the call.

01

Download & run the installer

Click Download for Windows above. Once the .exe finishes downloading, double-click it to launch the installer and follow the on-screen steps.

Windows SmartScreen warning

Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen dialog because the app is newly published and doesn't yet have a broad install history.

How to proceed
  1. Click More info in the SmartScreen dialog
  2. Click Run anyway
  3. The installer will proceed normally
03

Allow camera access

On first launch Windows will request camera access. Click Yes / Allow. If you need to change this later go to Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera and enable InstantFaceAI.

04

Select InstantFaceAI as your camera

Open Zoom, Meet, Teams, or any video app. In the camera settings choose "InstantFaceAI Camera". Your AI face will appear live to all participants.

01

Add a Browser Source in OBS

In OBS, click + in the Sources panel and choose Browser from the list.

02

Copy the popout URL from the app

Inside InstantFaceAI, click the OBS button. A green badge will appear on the AI Output panel showing your local relay URL — it looks like:

URL
http://127.0.0.1:8700/popout
The port number (8700) may differ — always copy the URL shown in the app badge, don't type it manually.
03

Paste the URL & set resolution

In the Browser Source properties, paste the URL and set width & height to match your stream resolution:

URLPaste the /popout URL from the app
Width1920 (or your stream width)
Height1080 (or your stream height)
FPS30 or 60 — match your OBS output
The page has a black background — if your resolution doesn't match exactly, any letterboxing will be invisible.
04

Start stream in the app first, then click OBS

Always start your AI stream inside InstantFaceAI before activating the OBS output. The Browser Source will show "Waiting for stream…" until frames arrive.

Once you click OBS in the app, the relay starts and OBS fills with the AI output only — no app chrome, no UI, just the clean face-swapped video feed.
